I recently chaired and presented at Femtocells World Summit, the biggest public femtocell event of the year, on behalf of Femto Forum. Attended by over 300 people, it was a fantastically informative and newsworthy show. Some highlights included:
- Vodafone’s announcement of their UK launch of femtocells, or the Vodafone Access Gateway as they call them. Since 1st July these have been available from www.vodafone.co.uk/gateway This video interview highlights the key aspects of their launch:
- Details of the latest achievements by the Femto Forum:
- Demonstrations of a range of applications specifically enabled by femtocells beyond those which would be available in traditional mobile networks. Se for example these demonstrations by ip.access and Airvana.
